Now this, this is probably my FAVORITE memory from this class. For this assignment, we had to write and deliver a monologue from the perspective of a teenager, and for whatever reason I was dying to do something based off that old “your IQ isn’t high enough to understand Rick and Morty” copypasta. I just went and ran with this idea, and guided by Mr. Gile’s love of the phrase “Don’t be boring” I thought it would be fun to go all out and put on a performance that opens with me putting a dunce cap on Mr. Giles. And man did I love presenting this, words can not describe the pure adrenaline I felt getting up there and seeing everyone laugh at all my jokes. It really made me realize just how fun following through on your ideas can be and helped fuel the flame of passion I had for writing.
