This was the first big writing assignment we had to do, and I was PETRIFIED to have to read it in front of a bunch of people who at this point were basically strangers. I spent so much time stressing over this, building up this idea that everyone was going to hate what I write. And when the time came for me to read my piece, I stood up, hands shaking, and gave it my best shot and realized that, hey, this isn’t so bad! Everyone was quiet and listened. Heck I even got a few thank you notes. I had braved the first step of becoming a writer through having to share this piece, which gave me the confidence to truly start my dramatic writing journey.
